NEXT MEETING ON 2nd March 2010 THE RAILWAY 24 STATION ROAD WHEATLEY OXFORDSHIRE OX33 1ST MEETING COMMENCES FROM 6.00 PM WITH THAI CURRY TO FOLLOW AT £6 PER HEAD The last Meeting on 1st December was attended by 15 members and produced a lively discussion. The Minutes are posted on the SPG website. At the meeting the name of the Group was changed to “Thames Valley Sole Practitioners Group” in view of the distances some members had travelled. The next Meeting will be held on 2nd March 2010 and will be a talk by Roy Slocombe of AON/QBE who is a Law Society accredited Lexcel Consultant who after a career with one of the major clearing banks spent 12 months as a Practice Manager with a central London law firm. He then became an independent consultant and has increasingly focussed on working with the legal profession on quality assurance and risk management on behalf of one of the major indemnity insurers and brokers, working also in a hands on capacity with some of their clients. Roy strongly believes that quality assurance is a key route to achieving good risk management procedures.
